Grandfather Henry Marcel Carrel, "lo Marcel," is an important figure among the Alpine Guides of Valtournenche, famous for their expeditions and achievements on every continent! Between the 1940s and 1960s, he alternated between mountain life and climbs on the Matterhorn with expeditions and travels around the world, discovering new territories and peaks to conquer. It was an opportunity reserved for very few individuals, who gained an extraordinary wealth of experiences and knowledge, returning stronger from every adventure.

This is the essence of Esprit Carrel!

Already present in the legendary conquest of the Matterhorn in 1865, achieved through unwavering determination to reach the summit, following numerous climbing attempts involving Jean-Antoine Carrel (1829) and his uncle Jean-Jacques (1806), from whom Antoine-César (1841), Jean-Jacques (1876), and Grandfather Marcel (1912) descend.

They all dedicated their lives to their passion for the mountains and the wonders that surround them. As descendants, we feel the responsibility to pass on and relive their experiences. We have chosen to do so by stimulating the senses, so we can breathe in the spirit of conquest of our ancestors, to live strong in the present and grow in the future. We may not be able to climb their peaks, but we certainly create our products with love. That's why we dedicate ourselves to making them the best way we can. We put professionalism, heart, passion, and love for tradition into our products. We put ourselves into them.
